Burradise 2022 is coming! Scheduled for 23-26 September, this year's festival includes an extended program of community-driven events and free activities.
After two years of last-minute COVID cancellations and postponements for the popular live music, culture and arts festival in Culburra Beach, the annual event is planning to be back on stage from 23 September 2022.
"It's been an extraordinarily hard two or three years for local residents, and while the Burradise festival is about bringing people together in our beautiful town, this year's plans are focussed on providing an opportunity for locals and visitors to come together to celebrate our resilience and strength as a community to build a positive focussed future ," explained chair Alex McNeilly.
"We're going big because we all deserve it. We want everyone to come, play and stay with us for the return of our 2022 Burradise Festival at Culburra Beach" he said.
The 2022 Burradise Festival is scheduled to start on Friday 23 September, and includes an extended five-day format to include the start of the school holiday period. The festival has also been moved from its traditional autumn weekend in May to September, to allow for the extended format. The full program runs up to September 26 and includes new creative, active and free family-friendly events.
Popular features from previous years — such as the CookaBurra cooking competition, arts and crafts workshops, photography exhibition, live original music, local market stalls, 'SkulBurra' skate park jam, and the annual Culburra Beach Boardriders Club's Surf Bash event — will sit alongside a range of new highlights, including a yoga and wellbeing hub, community dance troupes, singing, bike rides, and local events.
"After so many years of lock-down, we aim to provide new opportunities to get our Burradise vibes on!" Alex McNeilly explained.
Organisers will soon be launching an extensive volunteers training program, and calling for expressions of interest from local businesses, makers, musicians and other stakeholders — subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to hear the latest announcements.
