The Burradise festival has a strong and proud history of celebrating creative arts and crafts at a community level. The 2021 festival will again deliver a creative suite of activities and events, primarily aimed at kids and families.
This year’s program will feature a range of art exhibitions, cultural displays, craft workshops, photography competitions, and even a short film festival.
To open the weekend, more than $3500 in prize money is set to be awarded to amateur photographers in the annual photography competition and exhibition. Entries will be opening soon so check back on the 'Photography Exhibition' page (via the 'What's on' drop-down menu) for online entry registration and submission instructions.
A free ‘make and take’ craft workshop will be held in the community hall on Saturday, where visitors can learn a new skill with quilting queen Skye Thompson and a team of clever local crafters, and take their masterpiece home at the end.
And, in a first for the festival program, a short film festival will be held in the Burradise Community Garden (behind Burra Beach Eats and the coffee van in the middle of town). Short films by a mix of local emerging film directors and professional filmmakers will be screened in an intimate outdoor setting.

In February 2021, 10 filmmakers from three fire-affected South Coast regional areas started making short films that spoke to their community after a year of devastating bushfire, flood, and global pandemic.
These are their stories, supported by local not-for-profit group Southland Creative and the Screenrights NSW Cultural Fund. The film festival will be held in the Burradise community garden.
Date and time TBA. Stay tuned for more info when the 2021 program drops...
